PEMBROKE, Bermuda - November 1, 2012 - Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. (NYSE:ENH), a Bermuda-based provider of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, today announced that it has launched a Global Trade Credit & Surety Reinsurance business. Christoph Virchow joined Endurance today as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Trade Credit and Surety to lead the expansion of the company's reinsurance portfolio in these specialty products with a focus on the European, Asian Pacific and Latin American markets. Mr. Virchow, with more than twenty years experience as a leader in the Trade Credit and Surety reinsurance market, reports to Endurance's Reinsurance CEO and is joined by Micaela Cojocaru, Erik Wesselink and Andreas Grieder. The team is based in Endurance's Zurich office.

Mr. Virchow joins Endurance from Axis Re where, since 2003, he had underwriting responsibility for key trade credit and surety accounts across several regions. Prior to Axis Re, Mr. Virchow held a similar role at Swiss Re. He started his career in the Credit and Bond reinsurance department of Zurich Insurance. Mr. Virchow was educated at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany.
