PHILADELPHIA (dpa-AFX) - Hulu Chief Executive Officer Jason Kilar will leave the company in the first quarter, he disclosed Friday in a blog post. He also said chief technology officer Rich Tom will also leave the company, with roughly the same departure date.
Hulu is owned by several entertainment companies, including Walt Disney Co. (DIS), Comcast corp. (CMCSA, CMCSK) and News Corp (NWS, NWSA).
Kilar's departure had been long rumored. He gave no details about the reasons for his departure. Jason Kilar and Rich Tom have been with the company since its 2007 launch.
Kilar said that he is currently working with the Board to ensure there is ample runway to manage this transition.
