CANBERA (dpa-AFX) - Japan is on Wednesday scheduled to release November figures for core machine orders, plus December data for corporate service prices and consumer confidence, highlighting a modest day in Asia-Pacific economic activity.
Core machine orders are expected to add 0.3 percent on month and fall 7.3 percent on year. That follows the 2.6 percent monthly gain and the 1.2 percent annual increase in October. Corporate service prices are tipped to gain 0.2 percent on month and lose 0.7 percent on year after being flat on month and dipping 0.9 percent on year in November. The consumer confidence index saw a score of 39.4 in November.
Australia will provide December data for new motor vehicle sales, plus January results for the Westpac consumer confidence index. Vehicle sales were flat on month and up 9.7 percent on year in November. The consumer confidence index fell 4.1 percent in December to a score of 100.
