TOKYO (dpa-AFX) - South Korea will on Wednesday release December figures for industrial production and current account, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.
In November, industrial production was up 2.3 percent on month and 2.9 percent on year - while the current account came in with a surplus of $6.88 billion.
Japan will provide retail sales data for December, with forecasts suggesting an increase of 0.4 percent on month and 0.3 percent on year. That follows the 0.1 percent monthly decline and the 1.2 percent annual increase in November, both of which were upwardly revised. Large retailer sales are seen lower by 1.0 percent on year after rising 0.9 percent in the previous month.
