ORANGE COUNTY, Calif., Jan. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --MemorialCare Health System in Southern California announced it will be moving its headquarters to a 15-acre corporate campus in Costa Mesa with dramatic 405 freeway frontage visible to more than 400,000 commuters each day.
The new campus and 180,000 square-foot headquarters will accommodate the rapid growth of MemorialCare in Orange and Los Angeles counties and bring together teams from throughout the health system currently spread over several locations. This announcement coincides with MemorialCare's recent addition of hospitals, physician groups, outpatient and ambulatory facilities, retail health centers, an emerging health plan and other clinical and support services as MemorialCare continues to be regarded as one of the nation's most comprehensive integrated health care delivery systems.
The transaction is the largest headquarters purchase over the last year by an Orange County-based company. The location at 1588 South Coast Drive in Costa Mesa will be distinctive architecturally and operationally for total immersion into workplace wellness, with walking trails, a fitness center, courtyards, natural lighting, walking work stations, nutritional food choices, and designs and spaces promoting health and well-being.
The new facility ensures better coordination and integration to accommodate the rapid expansion of MemorialCare Health System, one of Orange County's faster growing businesses. The campus, expected to be occupied in late 2013, will bring together teams from MemorialCare's corporate office, physician support locations and medical groups, including MemorialCare Medical Group, Greater Newport Physicians and Nautilus Healthcare Management Group.
