OTTAWA (dpa-AFX) - JDS Uniphase Corp. (JDSU, JDU.TO) reported that its second-quarter net income was $4.1 million, or $0.02 per share, compared to a net loss of $10.2 million or $0.04 per share in the year ago quarter.
On Non-GAAP basis, net income for the quarter was $42.3 million, or $0.18 per share, up from $36.3 million, or $0.16 per share last year.
GAAP net revenue for the quarter was $429.4 million, up from $409.3 million in the same quarter last year. Non-GAAP net revenue for the prior year was $409.6 million.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.14 per share on revenues of $424.19 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
For the third quarter of fiscal 2013, ending March 30, 2013, the company expects non-GAAP net revenue to be $405 to $425 million. Analysts expect the company to report revenues of $414.78 million for the third-quarter.
