CANBERA (dpa-AFX) - Thailand is on Monday scheduled to release January figures for consumer prices, highlighting a light day for Asia Pacific economic activity. CPI was up 0.39 percent on month and 3.6 percent on year in December, while core CPI collected 0.04 percent on month and 1.8 percent on year in the previous month.
Australia will see December numbers for building approvals, as well as January figures for job advertisements and inflation forecasts. Building approvals are expected to add 0.1 percent on month and 14.9 percent on year after rising 2.9 percent on month and 13.2 percent on year in November. Job ads were down 3.8 percent on month in December, while inflation was called higher by 0.4 percent on month and 2.4 percent on year.
Japan will announce January figures for monetary base; in December, the base was up 11.8 percent on year.
