PEKING (dpa-AFX) - Japan is on Friday scheduled to release final December figures for industrial production and capacity utilization, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.
Little change is expected from last month's preliminary reading that showed a 7.8 percent annual contraction and a 2.5 percent monthly gain for output, as well as a 0.2 percent monthly decline in capacity utilization.
New Zealand will see January results for non-resident bond holdings; in December, they were at 64.0 percent.
Singapore will provide retail sales data for December, with analysts expecting a decline of 0.5 percent on month and 1.0 percent on year. That follows the 0.8 percent monthly contraction and the 1.1 percent annual decline in November.
Finally, the markets in Taiwan and China remain closed on Friday for the Lunar New Year holiday. Both will re-open on Monday.
