Braskem included in the newly launched Dow Jones Sustainability World Index Emerging Markets

PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Braskem was included as a component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index Emerging Markets (DJSI Emerging Markets), the new sustainability index for companies from emerging markets on the New York Stock Exchange that was launched February 21, 2013 This international recognition attests to Braskem's commitment to expanding its contribution to sustainable development through good practices in corporate governance and social and environmental responsibility.

The largest producer of thermoplastic resins in the Americas and the world's largest biopolymer producer, the Brazilian company is also a component of the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) of the BM&FBovespa S.A. - Securities, Commodities and Futures Exchange, an index launched eight years ago formed by 37 companies considered benchmarks in the area of sustainability.
