DENVER, Feb. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ - The PCL family of companies have raised more than $7.1 million for United Way agencies in communities across North America. The 2012 fundraising total is the largest amount raised by employees and the company.

Throughout the US and Canada, 29 regions participated in fundraising campaigns for the United Way. The Denver region team made their largest contribution ever to Mile High United Way by donating $1,670,918 to this year's campaign. In addition to a record-setting contribution, 92 percent of employees donated-an all-time high.
In Florida, United Way Suncoast nominated PCL's Tampa office for the Tampa Bay Business Journal's Most Philanthropic Company award. For the past four years, 100% of Tampa employees have contributed to the annual United Way campaign, and total office donations doubled between 2007 and 2010.

PCL began partnering with the United Way in 1969 and the annual campaigns help raise money for local United Way agencies. Employees organize the campaigns that provide various opportunities to contribute by donating money, time, and by participating in special events. PCL achieved a company-wide total employee participation rate of 78% among the districts that ran United Way campaigns in 2012.
