MPTF (Motion Picture & Television Fund) Awarded Overall Five Star Rating By US News & World Report

Finanznachrichten News

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- In its just released annual report on Best Nursing Homes ratings, US News & World Report has placed MPTF (Motion Picture and Television Fund) on its 2013 list of Best Nursing Homes in California. With an overall Five Star rating from US News, MPTF's highlights include its ratings in Nurse Staffing Levels and Quality Measures, both of which score far above California and national averages.

In the US News study, Nurse Staffing Levels are judged by the average number of hours per day of care received per resident from nurses and physical therapists. MPTF, which has spoken openly about staffing levels in excess of State requirements, averaged 25 percent and 32 percent more than the state and national averages respectively. Quality Measures are judged according to the percentage of residents who got recommended care, such as flu vaccinations, pain management, and other care-related problems, and had those issues attended to. MPTF scored a 99 percent compared to the state and national scores of 94 percent respectively CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) has approved the methodology used by US News in its survey.

"I can't tell you how thrilled we are that the hard work put into our patient care by all of our MPTF workers and management is recognized this way by a great organization like US News," said Bob Beitcher, MPTF CEO. "With the exceptional work of our new management team over the past six months, we are providing our frail and vulnerable industry seniors even better care today," Beitcher added.

This is U.S. News & World Report's fifth annual Best Nursing Homes ratings, highlighting the top nursing homes in each state and nearly 100 major metropolitan areas. The ratings cover more than 15,000 nursing homes nationwide and are freely available at www.usnews.com/best-nursing-homes. U.S. News & World Report drew on data from Nursing Home Compare, run by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the federal agency that sets and enforces standards for nursing homes. U.S. News awarded the "Best Nursing Home" designation to homes that recently earned an overall rating of five stars, the agency's highest.
