WASHINGTON -- The National League of Cities (NLC) will release its third annual Local Economic Conditions Report on Thursday, April 4, 2013. The national survey gauges the drivers of local fiscal health.

This year's survey of city officials revealed their opinions on local unemployment rates, barriers to sustained economic growth, the demands for survival services, and the impacts if municipal financing mechanisms are limited.
Members of the press are invited to join a conference call with NLC staff and city officials. After the briefing, NLC staff and city officials will take questions from the media.
The Local Economic Conditions Survey is a national mail and email survey of city officials conducted annually in January. This is the third edition of the survey, which began in 2010.
