NEW YORK CITY (dpa-AFX) - News Corp. (NWS, NWSA) said Monday that it has applied to the Autorité des marchés financiers for a decision that it be deemed to have ceased to be a reporting issuer in Québec.
If the decision is granted, the company will no longer be a reporting issuer in any jurisdiction in Canada.
The company said it does not believe that its securityholders in Canada will be materially prejudiced by the decision since the nature and scope of publicly available information about the company required by U.S. securities laws is substantially the same as the information such securityholders are currently receiving under the U.S./Canada Multijurisdictional Disclosure System.
