ARLINGTON, Va., May 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Today, Bikes for the World, the nation's largest non-profit bicycle reuse organization announces their second annual bike trade-in program in partnership with DICK'S Sporting Goods, Inc. (NYSE: DKS), the leading U.S. based full-line sporting goods retailer. Building upon the success of last year's program, Bikes for the World and DICK'S Sporting Goods will again look to collect and repurpose thousands of donated bikes for those in need.
From Sunday, May 5 to Saturday, May 11, consumers will have the opportunity to support the initiative by bringing in their used bike to a local DICK'S Sporting Goods store. Customers who participate in the trade-in will receive a discount toward a new bike purchase.
Bikes for the World will repurpose and distribute the donated bikes to lower income communities in the U.S. and around the world.In 2012, over 4,000 bikes were donated during the inaugural Bike Trade-In program.
