LOS ANGELES, May 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Westwood College hosted the Regional Networking Mixer for Los Angeles Chambers of Commerce on Thursday, April 11 at the South Bay Campus in Torrance, Calif. Nearly 300 business and community leaders, and Westwood College students and alumni attended the event, together to discuss issues affecting the Los Angeles area, grow their network and discuss potential employment opportunities. Four Los Angeles area chambers participated, including those from Harbor City/Harbor Gateway, Torrance, Lomita and Wilmington Chambers of Commerce.

"Our regional networking mixers provide regular opportunities for our members to connect with their community and grow their business," said Joanne Valle, executive director, Harbor City/Harbor Gateway Chamber of Commerce. "Partnering with Westwood College also provided an opportunity for business leaders to meet talented students, some of whom they hired to help improve their business."
The Westwood College School of Design presented an art show during the event, while the college's design club, digiINK, also created caricatures for attendees. Additionally, the event featured a Community Resource Room with representatives from community organizations, including: Meyler Family Literacy, Children's Institute, Community's Child, Harbor Community Clinic, Koinonia Family Services, Relay For Life, Shortstop Program and South Bay Family Healthcare.
