SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU, QUEBEC -- (Marketwired) -- 05/18/13 -- Royal Military College Saint-Jean marked the end of the academic year with a parade this morning after some 113 officer cadets were presented with a college certificate or diploma in a Convocation Ceremony yesterday evening.

"Royal Military C ollege Saint-Jean is a vibrant academic institution and a vital educational asset that is instrumental in developing the next generation of leaders for the Canadian Armed Forces and for Canada."
Today's ceremony, during which officer cadets wore the traditional red scarlet uniform, was presided over by Major-General Richard Foster, Deputy Commander Continental at Canadian Joint Operations Command. Daniele Henkel, President and Founder of Les Entreprises Daniele Henkel, presided over yesterday's Convocation.
"Today's parade is the celebration of the officer cadets' achievements in the Royal Military College Saint-Jean curriculum, which is based on academics, leadership, sports and bilingualism," said Colonel Guy Maillet, Royal Military College Saint-Jean Commandant. "It is very rewarding to see them quickly develop in all four facets of the curriculum over the course of their studies."
After completing the college-level programme at Royal Military College Saint-Jean, officer cadets pursue their university studies at the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario.
Royal Military College Saint-Jean provides officer cadets with a smooth transition from high school to university by providing college-level and first-year university programmes in science and social science. Each programme is offered in the candidate's first official language.
The mission of Royal Military College Saint-Jean is to integrate, evaluate and develop its officer cadets for successful careers as commissioned officers in the Canadian Armed Forces by means of its academic, leadership, sports and bilingualism programmes.
