LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa., June 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Air Products (NYSE: APD) will introduce two new technologies for metals processors at PowderMet 2013 in Chicago, Ill., from June 24-27. Conference attendees can stop by Air Products' #310 to learn about the company's new process for accelerated cooling for sinter-hardening of low-alloy steels, which not only can lower material cost, but can also increase hourly production. The company's application specialists will also be available to discuss a new cold plasma technology that can eliminate intergranular oxidation when carburizing and hardening atmospheres.
In addition, Air Products' Lisa Mercando, marketing manager for metals processing, will present lab and field test results from the company's "Evaluation of Accelerated Forced-convection Cooling Methods for Sinter-hardening of Low-alloy Steels." This technical presentation will be given on Wednesday, June 26, at 8:00 a.m. as part of Session 17, Sinterhardening: Material & Process Development.
Air Products will also highlight at PowderMet the company's range of technical services, such as process audits and troubleshooting; innovative equipment and technology solutions, such as the company's Atmosphere Humidification System for extended belt life and plasma-activated nitriding of stainless steels; and full line of industrial gases, which Air Products provides in a variety of delivery options for small to large volume users.
