A warm, royal welcome was extended to Palmer as the Calgary Stampede Queen and Princesses accompanied him to the event's signature chuckwagon races and a behind-the-scenes sneak peak of Stampede Park.
"The Calgary Stampede has always been on my bucket list," noted Palmer, who was also able to enjoy local traditions and activities with his family and friends over the long weekend.
Palmer and his brother Christian tasted the finest fair foods at the Stampede including a traditional pancake breakfast at the Fairmont Palliser Hotel and nearly finished a four pound "Outlaw Burger" from Lazy S Restaurant.
"It was one of the best burgers I've ever had, and I've had lots!" added Palmer. "Sadly, I had no room left for poutine [the Canadian specialty French Fries made with gravy and cheese curds]."
Giving his stomach a break, the former Bachelor also enjoyed horse-rides, shows and the Cowboy Casino. Palmer even horsed around with young members of the 'Round-em Up Girls' before their Stampede performance.
