San Francisco Plane Crash Victims Can and Should be Compensated, says Attorney Cameron Y. Brock of the Law Offices of Burg & Brock

LOS ANGELES, July 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading personal injury and experienced aviation accident attorney Cameron Y. Brock of the Law Offices of Burg & Brock has some thoughts on the plane crash in San Francisco that captured the world's attention last weekend. Out of 307 passengers on Asiana Flight 214, two Chinese national passengers, both teenage girls, were tragically killed. Some 180 passengers from the U.S., South Korea, and China were sent to area hospitals with injuries. While a large number of those injuries have been described as minor, they include many fractures. As for the more severe injuries, according to a July 8th USA Today article, a number of them are spinal injuries, some of which may well be permanently disabling.

Mr. Brock is moved by the news and also concerned. "Like everyone else, I'm of course relieved that 305 of the passengers and crew survived. However, as a plane crash lawyer who has handled numerous such cases, I can tell you that every single person from Flight 214 is suffering from injuries of one sort or another, both physical and psychological, due to the unbelievable trauma of being involved in a plane crash."

"The fact of the matter is that airline passengers have a right to expect that they will arrive at their destination in the same state of health as when they entered the plane. Moreover, the recovery from even a seemingly minor fracture can be quite lengthy and very costly," Mr. Brock said.

On the topic of legal responsibility, Mr. Brock continued. "Whether the incident was caused by mechanical issue or pilot error, it's our opinion that the accident was the absolute fault of the airline. The airline and any other responsible party should fully compensate all passengers for their physical and emotional injuries. We'd also like to inform the public that most personal injury cases involving airlines will have to be litigated in federal court and require the hand of highly experienced trial lawyers. The Law Offices of Burg & Brock is comprised of trial lawyers who are highly experienced in plane crash-related personal injury cases and ready to proceed in prosecuting airline crashes cases," he concluded.
