WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Crown Holdings Inc. (CCK) Wednesday reported second-quarter profit of $133 million or $0.93 per share, up from $134 million or $0.89 per share in the same period last year.
Adjusted earnings for the quarter was $0.96 per share. On average, 14 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.93 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenues increased to $2.22 billion from $2.18 billion last year, primarily due to increased global beverage and food can unit sales. Analysts expected revenues of $2.28 billion.
