WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - AptarGroup Inc. (ATR) reported that its second-quarter net income attributable to company was $49.8 million, or $0.73 per share, compared to $41.7 million or $0.61 per share in the previous year quarter.
Net sales declined 11% to $641.44 million from $577.50 million in the comparable quarter last year.
On average, twelve analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit of $0.74 per share on revenue of $623.84 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company expects third quarter earnings per share to be in the range of $0.68 to $0.73. Analysts currently expect second quarter earnings of $0.73 per share.
