WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Abaxis Inc.(ABAX) posted second-quarter net income of $3.2 million or $0.14 per share, compared to $2.9 million or $0.13 per share in the prior year quarter.
Income from operations for the quarter declined to $4.6 million or $0.21 per share from $4.8 million or $0.22 per share in the year-ago period.
Total revenues for the latest second quarter of 2013 increased 3% to $43.17 million from $42.01 million in the comparable quarter last year.
On average, analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.23 per share on revenues of $49.13 million. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
