WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Alliance One International Inc. (AOI) Friday reported first-quarter net loss of $37 million or $0.42 per share, compared with a net loss of $31 million or $0.35 per share last year.
Revenues for the quarter were $384 million, compared with $358 million in the prior year.
Results for the quarter were hurt mainly by costs of $11 million in Zambia related to reducing its estimate of anticipated recoveries on advances to tobacco suppliers.
