LAS VEGAS, Aug.12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Rapport Leadership International, a premier leadership development training company-has announced a major new initiative with a critical mission: to empower and develop more women leaders.
According to census data, women represent 46.9% of the workplace yet hold a disproportionate 22.9% of senior management positions.
The topic of female leadership has seen a recent resurgence in the media. Berkshire Hathaway Chairman Warren Buffet espoused the merits of women in management stating "America has forged success while utilizing only half of the country's talent" and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg's bestselling book urges women to "lean in" and embrace success.
Rapport Leadership's initiative, called Women's Leadership Breakthrough 1, is a 3 day intensive leadership course dedicated to help women find their voice, gain focus and self-confidence and discover their mission and purpose.
"I am excited about this course aimed at women fully stepping into their strengths as leaders," said Jay Ship, Chief Operating Officer of Rapport Leadership International. "This is an important initiative."
Women's Leadership Breakthrough 1 is unlike that of any women's leadership course to date. For more than twenty-years, Rapport has been seen as experts on educating leadership, innovating classes for preparing leaders from grade school to the boardroom.
"Our classes are not conventional, class-room setting courses," said Mr Ship. "Our learning is experiential and transformational. Our graduates constantly tell us their Rapport Experience is life-changing and they are transformed as leaders."
To kick off the initiative, two classes with approximately 30 female students will take place at the Rapport Executive Retreat in Alamo, Nevada on October 18th 2013 and November 15th 2013. The three day course promises to help women from diverse backgrounds and experience.
"The class is targeted to women whom are either emerging or seasoned leaders." said Mr Ship. "WLB1 will serve as both a standalone performance accelerator and the ideal complement to any long-term leadership development program".
