FORT WORTH (dpa-AFX) - AMR Corp. (AAMRQ.PK) Monday said consolidated traffic for the month of August improved 3.2 percent, as capacity was increased by 4.2 percent from last year.
August traffic, measured in revenue passenger miles or RPMs, improved to 12.75 billion from 12.36 billion in the same period last year. On a consolidated basis, the company boarded 9.7 million passengers in August.
Capacity, measured in available seat miles or ASMs, totaled 15.01 billion, up from 14.41 billion last year.
Load factor dropped 0.8 points to 85.0 percent from 85.8 percent last year.
