CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/16/13 -- The Calgary Social Media Breakfast (SMBYYC) is pleased to announce the September Topic:
Social Technologies and the Energy Space
Social technologies are undeniably impacting the energy sector. However, in the long term, this may have less to do with the new tools the oil and gas industry is using to "get the message out," so to speak, and more to do with the deep structural and societal changes brought about by a data/social/mobile world. Some thought leaders imagine with considerable clarity how these changes could forever alter the value proposition and business model for energy companies.
What will happen when social technology and the energy sector experience a full-on collision at the level of policy, infrastructure and innovation? And after the dust settles, what new companies -- and new leaders -- will emerge in the energy space?
Speakers from @energyconvo, @PetroFeed, @Van_Horne and @GetVerdigo will gather Friday morning to discuss the intersection of social tech and energy and what it means for the future, including a 10-minute screening of never-before-seen footage from the Energyconvo documentary.
Post discussion, the panel will answer audience questions in an interactive Q&A.
Seating is limited. Please RSVP at http://www.amiando.com/smbyyc44
