WASHINGTON, Sept. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Today the Hispanic Leadership Fund announced the launch of the Alliance for Innovation and Development (A4ID), a coalition project that focuses on the promotion of new and innovative solutions to meeting the challenge of sustainable, long-term economic growth and development.
The Alliance will highlight policy ideas from a variety of sources that focus on innovative and creative solutions in three broad areas that are critical to promoting prosperity in the 21st Century:
- Responsive and transparent government
- Economic growth and development
- Access and advancement in telecommunications
"The spark that fuels all innovation is human creativity and ingenuity," said Hispanic Leadership Fund president Mario H. Lopez. "But in order to positively affect the lives of ordinary people, government policies should foster conditions that allow entrepreneurship to flourish. A climate that encourages innovation, economic growth, and opportunity for all is the roadmap to prosperity in the 21st Century."
The Alliance will highlight and promote the work of anyone who contributes significantly to these areas, including scholars, think tanks, and entrepreneurs. In addition, A4ID will produce original material on its web site and allow guest contributors.
As general principles, the Alliance for Innovation and Development believes that several core conditions enable innovation and encourage economic growth, including vigorous competition across markets, open trade and a stable economic environment, sound policies and mechanisms based on empirical and realistic models, efficient and transparent regulatory systems, and a strong emphasis on education at all levels.
The Alliance for Innovation and Development regards these public policy pillars as central to strengthening knowledge-based industries and global markets.
