WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Crown Holdings Inc. (CCK) Wednesday reported third-quarter profit of $113 million or $0.81 per share, down from $325 million or $2.20 per share in the same period last year.
Adjusted earnings for the quarter was $1.13 per share. On average, 14 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.08 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Sales grew to $2.39 billion from $2.30 billion last year. Analysts expected revenues of $2.36 billion last year.
