OTTAWA (dpa-AFX) - Canadian National Railway Co. (CNI, CNR.TO) Tuesday reported third-quarter profit of C$705 million or C$1.67 per share, up from C$664 million or C$1.52 per share in the same period last year.
Adjusted earnings for the quarter was C$1.72 per share. On average, 25 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn C$1.63 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenues increased to C$2.70 billion from C$2.50 billion last year. Analysts expected revenues of C$2.65 billion.
