Luxoft (NYSE:LXFT), a leading provider of software development services and innovative IT solutions to a global client base, announced today at the Telematics Munich 2013 the development of AllView, a technology demonstrator utilizing Luxoft's reference design platform for creating an in-vehicle user experience (UX). AllView links together instrument cluster, head unit and mobile devices. Based on SmartDeviceLink Profiles (SDLP), an extension to GENIVI's SmartDeviceLink (SDL) open source connectivity technology, AllView enables automakers to optimize the car user experience and improve safety by reducing driver distraction, while encouraging third-party application development.
"Integrating workload management helps to unlock the value of multiple screens and the development of human machine interface systems that will significantly improve safety," said Vasiliy Suvorov, VP Technology Strategy at Luxoft. "At the same time it's clear that the industry will benefit from an open connectivity standard that will help app developers, OEMs and the rest of the ecosystem, and bring more apps and services to cars while making cars safer. Luxoft collaborated with Ford and GENIVI Alliance to develop SmartDeviceLink, which is an open source version of Ford's AppLink software. Now we made an open standard-based holistic solution for the car user experience that any automaker can benefit from."
Serkan Arslan, Global Director of Business Development Automotive at Luxoft, added: "AllView is a cost-efficient solution that can bring hi-end features and look feel to mass market vehicles, while improving safety. Because of our unique expertise that we've accumulated in crucial areas of automotive HMI, connectivity and infotainment, Luxoft has become a one-stop automotive design house. We help OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers to design, specify and develop complete HMI, infotainment, connectivity and telematics solutions, while cutting costs and time to market. All this experience was distilled into the new reference design platform that has a potential to help improve car experience for millions of drivers."
AllView seamlessly integrates multiple screens, including car head units and mobile devices, and enables situation-aware human machine interface (HMI) where passengers help reduce the driver's workload by becoming co-pilots. AllView offers market leading visual design for modern "consumer" look feel, covering wide demographics from novice to enthusiast driver. The reference platform comes with innovative and price competitive input methods while enabling improved safety and regional support. AllView incorporates the latest automotive technology, including SDLP, WebKit, Blink, HTML5 and more.
Luxoft is proud to be the Infotainment Sponsor of the Telematics Munich 2013 exhibition and conference, and will demonstrate its AllView Reference Design Platform at booth P-20.
