-- Vice President and Brazilian delegation received at residence of Ambassador of Brazil in Abu Dhabi, Joao de Mendonca Lima Neto
SAO PAULO, Nov. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Vice President of the Republic, Michel Temer, was honored at a dinner given by Joao de Mendonca Lima Neto, Ambassador of Brazil to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), for members of the Brazilian delegation. The fourth edition of the Audi Business Trip, happening from November 10th through 17th, kicked off an intense schedule of business and diplomatic meetings in the cities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the Emirates. Initiated by Grupo Doria and undertaken by LIDE - Grupo de Lideres Empresariais [Group of Business Leaders], the event has master sponsorship by Audi.
The group, led by Joao Doria Jr., President of LIDE - Grupo de Lideres Empresariais, was received by the Emir de Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who emphasized his wish to intensify commercial relations between the countries. "Despite the distance between the Emirates and Australia, there is an intense commercial and political relationship, and we would like to have that same kind of contact with Brazil," declared the crown prince.
According to Michel Temer, Brazil is focused on the infrastructure projects it must carry out - ports, airports, highways - and the Arab Emirates have the necessary capital to bring to bear in this sector. The crown prince expressed interest in investing in the country, and undertook to send a delegation of businessmen to assess future transactions. "Our visit is turning out to be most productive," the Vice President observed.
For Ambassador Lima Neto, the encounter was a success. "I see this as a new chapter in the political and commercial relationship between Brazil and the UAE. The visit by LIDE executives is expanding business opportunities for both countries, because this is without a doubt the largest group from Brazil ever received in the Emirates," the Ambassador said.
"Bringing together the private sector and the public sector is helping to build a major commercial relationship between the two countries," concluded Joao Doria Jr.
