Video calls on Congressmen Miller and Cook to take action now!
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --As families gather to celebrate Thanksgiving, SEIU ULTCW and other advocates for commonsense immigration reform are raising awareness through a viral video of the thousands of families who will not be together this holiday season due to our broken immigration system. They're also calling on the public to join them in placing pressure on local Congress Members to change that.
The three-minute viral video entitled One Family's Story: A Nation's Fight For Immigration Reform was released today by SEIU United Long Term Care Workers (ULTCW), Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA), Mi Familia Vota, CLUE Los Angeles, LARED, Korean Resource Center, Korean Immigrant Workers Alliance, National Latino Evangelical Coalition, and the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO and highlights the emotional story of a local family who faced an uncertain future after a husband and father of two was arrested in a raid and faced deportation.
The video ends with a call to action for viewers to phone the district offices of California Congressmen Gary Miller and Paul Cook and tell them to stand up for what's right by passing immigration reform now.
The release of the video is the latest in a series of events and actions being held nationwide to place pressure on Congress to pass commonsense immigration reform prior to the end of the year.
