Wallick & Volk Gives Back To Flagstaff Charities

Finanznachrichten News

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz., Dec. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Wallick & Volk Mortgage announced today that they have made contributions to both the Flagstaff Family Food Center and the Poore Medical Clinic in Flagstaff.

Wallick & Volk has been an integral part of the Flagstaff community for the past 13 years. As a small, privately-held mortgage banker, they maintain a large portion of the market share in Flagstaff. They are well-known and respected in the industry and by the community. As a way of "giving back," Wallick & Volk has made generous contributions to two vital local charities.

The Poore Medical Clinic is a non-profit, volunteer run clinic providing free medical care to Northern Arizona's low-income, uninsured population. There is a significant need for these services with 34% of Flagstaff residents surveyed reporting they have no health care. There are over 2,000 reported homeless in Coconino County according to the clinic's website. John Rich (NMLS #166147 | AZ MLO #0912221) is Branch Manager of Wallick & Volk in Flagstaff. Rich reports, "Our office recognizes the significant need and the valuable services provided by the Poore Medical Clinic. Wallick & Volk has made a $5,000 contribution to support the work of Dr. Poore and the exceptional volunteers at this clinic." For more information on how to help, follow this link: www.flagstaffmedicalclinic.com.

Flagstaff experienced a difficult set back with the closure of the local St. Mary's Food Bank. The Flagstaff Family Food Center and the Northern Arizona Food Bank stepped in to fill this gap. They've combined efforts to create a new agency called: Flagstaff Family Food Center: Food Bank and Kitchen. They will continue their work preparing bag lunches and serving hot meals, having served over 1.8 million hot meals to date. Now the program will also offer emergency food boxes to the food-insecure of our community. Steve Saville, the Executive Director appealed for help in a video on the agency's website. Wallick & Volk has answered that appeal in a big way. On Friday morning 11/22, Wallick & Volk presented $5,000 to the food bank along with 500 hams. Michael Groff, President and CEO of Wallick & Volk and long-time Flagstaff resident explains, "We are able to provide 500 hams thanks to a partnership with Albertson's who also recognizes the importance of the FFFC's work." The cost to purchase 500 hams would be about $10,000.

Wallick & Volk has made news in the past with other charitable contributions in northern Arizona and having been named "Best of Flagstaff" by the AZ Daily Sun. Rich reflects, "we are privileged to serve this community. Supporting the work of these vital charities is one way we can show our appreciation."
