LOS ANGELES, Jan. 31, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --Today, The Jordan Farmar Foundation is announcing its 2nd Annual "A Taste of Hope" event. The event aims to change lives by promoting physical and emotional well-being, teamwork, tolerance, responsibility, and environmental awareness. The foundation is committed to the health, hope and healing of children in need, envisioning a community where all children live healthy and environmentally responsible lives, while thriving in a diverse community. "A Taste of Hope" will take place at the Pauley Pavilion at UCLA on Thursday, February 20th, 2014 and start at 6:30 pm.
"I'm really excited for our 2nd annual Taste of Hope. Since being back in LA it's important to stay involved and connected to the community, especially when it comes to children who are less fortunate than most of us," says Jordan Farmar the Los Angeles Lakers, point guard.
The high profile event and its registered attendees will be indulging in a conceptualized dining experience by Executive Chef and Owner of Contemporary Catering, Nathaniel Neubauer. The silent auction will have an abundance of incredible items to bid on including spa treatments, sunglasses, a catered dinner at your home for 6, as well as many other surprises. All proceeds raised will assist in funding scholarships for children from Union Rescue Mission (which offers support to homeless families). The Department of Child and Family Services, the YMCA, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
