WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Ameriprise Financial, Inc. (AMP) Tuesday reported fourth-quarter profit of $298 million or $1.47 per share, down from $388 million or $1.80 per share in the same period last year.
Operating earnings for the quarter were $378 million or $1.87 per share. On average,12 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.81 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenues increased to $2.95 billion from $2.67 billion last year. Adjusted revenues totaled $2.85 billion. Analysts expected revenues of $2.88 billion for the quarter.
