OTTAWA (dpa-AFX) - Sun Life Financial Inc. (SLF.TO) Wednesday reported fourth-quarter profit of C$550 million or C$0.90 per share, up from C$395 million or C$0.65 per share in the same period last year.
Earnings from continuing operations totaled C$571 million or C$0.93 per share, up from C$284 million or C$0.47 per share last year. On average, 10 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn C$0.68 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenues increased to C$4.71 billion from C$4.25 billion last year. Adjusted revenues for the quarter were C$6.12 billion.
