WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Oceaneering International, Inc. (OII) Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income $93.4 million, or $0.86 per share, compared to $80.6 million, or $0.74 per share in the prior year quarter. On average, 23 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.84 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenue for the quarter was $894.80 million, up from $780.95 million in the comparable quarter last year, while sixteen analysts expected revenues of $830.30 million.
Looking ahead to the first quarter, the company has forecast earnings in the range of $0.75 to $0.80 per share. Analysts currently expect second quarter earnings of $0.83 per share.
For 2014, the company said it continues to expect earnings per share guidance in the range of $3.90 to $4.10. Analysts currently expect the company to earn $4.05 per share for 2014.
