BEIJING (dpa-AFX) - The Bank of Japan will on Friday release the minutes from its monetary policy meeting on February 17 and 18, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.
At the meeting, the central bank doubled the scale of its bank lending facility, while keeping the monetary easing plan unchanged.
Japan also will see final January numbers for industrial production. Little change is expected from last month's preliminary reading that suggested an increase of 4.0 percent on month and 10.6 percent on year.
China will release February figures for foreign direct investment, with analysts expecting an increase of 10.0 percent on year following the 16.1 percent jump in January.
Singapore will release January numbers for retail sales, plus Q4 unemployment data. Retail sales are expected to dip 0.8 percent on month but rise 5.0 percent on year after gaining 2.3 percent on month and falling 5.5 percent on year in December. The unemployment rate in Q3 was 1.8 percent.
