EL SEGUNDO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/28/14 -- Digital video startup Ditto Greetings announces new additions to their advisory board today with the appointments of Adam Cheyer, co-founder and chief architect of Siri; Spencer Baumgarten, a senior agent at Creative Artists Agency (CAA); and Ben Vandebunt, principal and long-time CEO of Guthy|Renker.
Adam Cheyer advises the Ditto team on technology, user experience, and platform dynamics, all with a view to build scale. Cheyer co-founded and served as VP Engineering of Siri, the virtual personal assistant that was acquired by Apple in 2010. He also is a founding member of change.org, the world's most popular petition platform for bringing about change in the world.
Spencer Baumgarten joins the Ditto team as a key advisor on studio and talent relationships, content acquisition, and unique ways to promote premium content on Ditto. Baumgarten is a senior agent at Creative Artists Agency, the world's leading entertainment and sports agency, where he represents prominent directors, actors, creative talent and brands.
Ben Vandebunt lends his expertise in marketing partnerships, advertising and metrics to grow the Ditto business and evolve the revenue model. Guthy|Renker has introduced and directed successful products for Proactiv, Anthony Robbins and Cindy Crawford's Meaningful Beauty, among others. Last year, Vandebunt and his partners sold their solar company (Paramount Solar) to Solar City, where he serves on its Board of Directors.
Cheyer, Baumgarten, and Vandebunt join technical advisors Anthony Borquez, founder of Grab Games and Grab Analytics, and Dan Gould, angel investor and co-founder of Chill, Adly, and Newroo (sold to Fox Interactive).
Entertainment start-up Ditto is the first digital greeting and promotional platform to use quotable movie clips to celebrate life's moments. Ditto has clips for everything from birthdays, weddings, and babies to great (and not-so-great) dates, eating and drinking, hirings and firings, and all of the daily nonsense friends like to share with each other.
Ditto has received angel funding and the team includes the co-director of the USC entrepreneur program in CEO Dave Belasco, a former Sony video exec in CEO David DiGuardi, and a senior engineer from hp and the MPAA, Craig Winter as CTO.
