CANBERA (dpa-AFX) - China will on Friday release April figures for consumer and producer prices, highlighting a busy day in Asia-Pacific economic news.
Consumer prices are expected to rise 2.0 percent on year, slowing from 2.4 percent in March. Producer prices are tipped to fall 1.8 percent after declining 2.3 percent in the previous month.
The Bank of Korea will conclude its monetary policy meeting and then announce its decision on interest rates. The central bank is widely expected to keep rates on hold at 2.50 percent.
The Reserve Bank of Australia will release its statement on monetary policy.
Japan will see preliminary March numbers for its leading and coincident indexes; in February, they were down 4.6 percent and 1.8 percent, respectively.
New Zealand will provide April numbers for credit card spending. Retail card spending was flat on month in March, while overall card spending was down 0.2 percent.
Indonesia will release Q1 numbers for current account; in Q4, the current account deficit was $4.02 billion.
