Fort McMurray residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a range of performances in music, dance, theatre, and comedy at Keyano Theatre College, thanks to an investment by the Government of Canada.
Federal support of $56,000 over two years ($28,000 in 2014-2015 and $28,000 in 2015-2016) through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund will allow Keyano College Theatre to present its 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 performance seasons.
The funding was announced today by the Honourable Rona Ambrose, Minister of Health and Regional Minister for Northern Alberta, on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

-- The 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 Syncrude Arts Alive Presents Series will feature 18 performances by 14 acts in each of the seasons. -- Keyano College Theatre, established in 1978, is the only professional multidisciplinary presenter in Fort McMurray. -- The state-of-the-art facility, with a 594-seat theatre and a 194-seat recital theatre, welcomes more than 80,000 patrons each year. -- The Canada Arts Presentation Fund gives Canadians increased access to the variety and richness of Canada's culture through professional arts festivals, presentations of live professional performances, and other artistic experiences.
