TOKYO (dpa-AFX) - New Zealand will on Wednesday release Q1 numbers for retail sales, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.
Retail sales are expected to add 0.9 percent on quarter after gaining 1.2 percent in the previous month.
Japan will see April results for its domestic corporate goods price index. Forecasts suggest an increase of 2.8 percent on month and 4.0 percent on year following the flat monthly reading and the 1.7 percent annual gain in March.
South Korea will provide unemployment data for April, with the jobless rate expected to ease down to 3.4 percent from 3.5 percent in March.
Malaysia will release Q1 numbers for gross domestic product and current account. GDP is expected to ease 0.1 percent on quarter and rise 5.2 percent on year following the 2.9 percent quarterly increase and the 5.1 percent yearly gain in Q4. The current account showed a surplus of 16.22 billion ringgit in the previous three months.
