WASHINGTON, June 13, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-PA), a 10-term Philadelphia Congressman, made the following statement as SEPTA commuter line transit workers from two unions threaten to strike at 12:01 am Saturday:
"In the strongest possible terms, I am calling on all parties involved in the transit talks to enter round-the-clock negotiations in order to avoid a strike tomorrow. The detrimental effects of a transit workers strike would be felt across Southeastern Pennsylvania; it would damage the economy, and most of all, the hundreds of thousands of commuters who rely on SEPTA's regional rail lines. I hope all sides will continue working towards an outcome that all parties can agree on."
