SEATTLE (dpa-AFX) - Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) on Wednesday unveiled its long awaited smartphone, marking its entry into the highly competitive smartphone market currently dominated by Apple Inc. (AAPL) and South Korea's Samsung Electronics Co.
The device, known as 'Fire', has a 4.7-inch HD display, a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera and unlimited photo storage in cloud among other features.
Fire ships on July 25 and is available exclusively on AT&T. Starting Wednesday, customers can pre-order Fire at www.amazon.com/Fire-Phone, www.att.com and in AT&T retail locations across the United States.
Fire with 32GB is available for $199 with a two-year contract. The device is also available with 64GB for $299 with a two-year contract.
