HOUSTON (dpa-AFX) - Oilfield services provider Schlumberger Ltd. (SLB) posted second-quarter net income attributable to the company of $1.6 billion or $1.21 a share, compared to $2.1 billion or $1.57 a share in the same quarter last year.
Earnings-per-share from continuing operations, excluding charges and credits, was $1.37, compared to $1.15 in the prior year period. On average, 32 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $1.36 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.
Quarterly revenue was $12.05 billion, up from $11.18 billion, while 25 analysts estimated revenues of $11.94 billion.
