MILPITAS (dpa-AFX) - Chipmaker Linear Technology Corp. (LLTC) reported fourth-quarter net income of $129.74 million or $0.53 per share, compared to $101.94 million or $0.43 per share in the year-ago quarter.
Excluding items, adjusted net income for the latest fourth quarter was $143.9 million or $0.59 per share, compared to $117.8 million or $0.49 per share in the prior year quarter.
Revenue for the latest fourth quarter rose 11.7% to $365.43 million from $327.27 million a year ago.
On average, 22 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.51 per share on revenue of $362.51 million for the fourth quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Looking forward, the company said it expects first quarter revenues to grow 1% to 3% sequentially.
