FORT LAUDERDALE (dpa-AFX) - Citrix Systems Inc. (CTXS) reported that its second-quarter net income was $53.0 million, or $0.31 per share, compared to $64.5 million, or $0.34 per share in the comparable quarter last year.
Non-GAAP net income was $142 million, or $0.83 per share, compared to $124 million, or $0.66 per share, prior year. On average, 30 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit of $0.61 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Total net revenues were $781.56 million, compared to $730.38 million prior year, while 28 analysts expected revenue of $772.60 million for the quarter.
Looking ahead to the third quarter, the company expects GAAP earnings per share in the range of $0.32 to $0.36, non-GAAP earnings per share in the range of $0.70 to $0.73 and net revenue in order of $765 million to $775 million. Analysts expect the company to report third quarter earnings of $0.76 per share on revenue of $785.80 million.
For fiscal 2014, the company now expects GAAP earnings per share in the range of $1.62 to $1.67, non-GAAP earnings per share in the range of $3.20 to $3.25 and net revenue to grow 8.5 percent to 10 percent. Analysts now expect the company to report fiscal 2014 earnings of $3.10 per share on revenue of 9.40%.
Earlier, the company expected GAAP earnings per share to be in the range of $1.61 to $1.71, non-GAAP earnings per share in the range of $2.90 to $2.95 and net revenue to grow by approximately 8.5 percent to 10 percent.
