WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Leggett & Platt (LEG) Thursday reported second-quarter net loss of $23.9 million or $0.17 per share, compared to net income of $71.3 million or $0.48 per share last year.
Net sales for the quarter rose to $1.00 billion from $958.8 million last year.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.47 per share on revenues of $979.92 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company now expects full year 2014 sales of $3.88 to 3.98 billion. Earlier the company expects sales of $3.85 billion to $4.05 billion. The company made no change to its $1.70 to 1.85 EPS guidance.
Analysts currently estimate earnings of $1.76 per share on revenues of $3.91 billion for the quarter.
