WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - C. R. Bard Inc. (BCR) Thursday reported second-quarter net loss of $119.4 million or $1.59 per share, compared to net loss of $161.6 million or $2.03 per share last year.
Adjusted earnings for the quarter were $2.06 per share compared to $1.59 per share last year.
Net sales for the quarter rose to $827.1 million from $759.9 million last year.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $2.01 per share on revenues of $814.50 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
