WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Northeast Utilities (NU) Thursday reported second-quarter net income attributable to controlling interest of $127.4 million or $0.40 per share compared to $171.0 million or $0.54 per share in the comparable quarter last year.
Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $131.9 million or $0.42 per share compared with $172.8 million or $0.55 per share a year ago.
Revenues for the quarter were $1.68 billion, compared with $1.64 billion in the prior year quarter.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.50 per share on revenues of $1.54 billion for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
